Ben Cherry is a New York-based actor who can currently be seen in the Broadway revival of Ragtime at Lincoln Center Theater. A proud Michigan native, Ben’s love for storytelling began with a kindergarten role as a truck (in a cardboard costume lovingly crafted by his mom) and blossomed at the Flint Youth Theatre, community productions, and a string of memorable roles that set him firmly on the path to the stage.

Ben honed his craft studying classical and musical theatre at Interlochen Arts Academy, the University of Michigan (Musical Theatre), and the North Carolina School of the Arts (Acting). His professional journey has taken him from Broadway and Off-Broadway to national tours and many of America’s most respected regional theatres, including the acclaimed American Repertory Theater, Center Theatre Group, Guthrie Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Baltimore Center Stage, Milwaukee Rep, and Pioneer Theatre Company, among others.

Notably, Ben has delivered standout performances in productions like “Indecent” and “Fiddler on the Roof” on Broadway, “Mary Poppins” on tour, and “Angels in America,” “Oslo,” and “What the Constitution Means to Me” on leading regional stages. While specializing in contemporary dramas and classics, Ben is also known for his “actor who sings” distinction, earning a MAC Award for Best Debut in his NYC cabaret show.

Beyond the stage, Ben has appeared in TV series such as “The Equalizer,” “The Following,” and “Smash,” and perhaps his most widely seen performance is in the Just For Men Control GX Shampoo campaign, featured on store shelves worldwide. With infectious passion, captivating stage presence, and an ever-evolving range, Ben Cherry remains dedicated to the transformative power of theatre and continues to inspire audiences wherever he performs. (And yes, he looks good in orange.)
